Brown Mackie College - Findlay To Host Education Exploration Day On April 19, 2016
Public Invited to Attend
Brown Mackie College – Findlay will open its doors to the Findlay and surrounding community for an education exploration event on April 19, 2016 from 5-7 pm. The event will take place at the school, located at 1700 Fostoria Avenue in Findlay and will feature information and workshops about the school’s programs in:
- Practical Nursing (Diploma)
- Occupational Therapy Assistant (Associate of Applied Science)
- Medical Assistant (Diploma)
- Pharmacy Technician (Diploma)
- Veterinary Technology (Associate of Applied Science)
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the school and meet with various faculty and staff to learn about admissions, financial aid (available to those who qualify), career services, and details about programs offered. Prospective students will discover the new tools of education and learn more about eTextbooks and tablet technology available to every incoming student. The college has converted to 100 percent electronic textbooks (eTextbooks) and the iPad* is the vehicle for delivering that technology and more for students.
The Brown Mackie College system of schools is dedicated to providing educational programs that prepare students for entry-level positions in a competitive, rapidly changing workplace. The Brown Mackie College schools established a unique ONE COURSE A MONTH© scheduling format that allows students to focus on one subject for one month, then move on to the next. Courses are offered during days and evenings.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), ACOTE, c/o Accreditation Department American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814-3449. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition, most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
