Brown Mackie College - Dallas/Ft. Worth Surgical Technology Club Gives Back to the Community
During the month of March, the Surgical Technology Club put several boxes around the campus to help collect dry perishable items, can goods and can tops. The program collected and delivered on April 13, 2016 more then 5 boxes of food to the Tarrant Area Food Bank and collected three boxes of can tops that were donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
In addition, the Surgical Technology club spent their morning (April 13, 2016) sorting, inspecting, and packing food at the Tarrant Area Food Bank to be distributed to local food pantries all over the DFW area. They packed frozen foods, refrigerated foods, and over 7,500 pounds of grapefruit! They worked hard and had a great time; we can’t wait to do it again! Also, since this week is Volunteer Appreciation Week, they handed out cookies, t-shirts, notepads, and pens to all who volunteered!
