For more than 20 years, Brian Bush has been associated with Women’s Softball on the Collegiate level, primarily in the Southeast part of Kansas. A graduate of Wichita State University, Bush started his coaching as an Assistant to the legendary Ed Hargrove at Cowley County in Arkansas City, Kansas.
In 2000, Bush was named the Head Coach at Ft. Scott Community College. During the 2001 season, Ft. Scott won 22 games and set school records in 12 categories. After 3 seasons at Ft. Scott, Bush was named Assistant Head Softball Coach at Pittsburg State University (NCAA D-II). His main duties at Pitt State was working with the development of the outfielders and with the pitching staff.
During the summer of 2006, Brian accepted the Head Coaching job at Independence Community College, a position he held for 4 years. At Independence, he was responsible for the entire operation of the softball program.
Bush is known for holding himself, students, parents, and staff in high esteem, and interacts with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity. He is a proven motivator, goal setter, and is dedicated to student development in the classroom.
