Chris Lehecka was named the Brown Mackie College head women’s basketball coach on April 20, 2015.

Lehecka most recently served as an assistant coach to Sherri Murrell at Portland State University, where he worked with scouting and daily operations. Lehecka was a part of a Portland State coaching staff that saw Emily Easom earn honorable mention Big-Sky honors.

Prior to Portland State, Lehecka served as an assistant at Kansas Wesleyan University for 3 years under Gordon Reimer and Ryan Showman where he had the opportunity to coach 12 All-Conference selections and 1 All-American selection, with an overall win-loss record of 52-41.

Coach Lehecka started his coaching career at Colby Community College under Brady Jasper in 2010, where they saw Hannah Thornton earn All-Conference honors and continue her career at Division I Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference.

Lehecka is a native of Wichita, KS. His parents are John and Debbie, and siblings include three brothers, Craig, BJ, and Shawn. Lehecka and his wife, Tawni, have a daughter, Skylar, who was born June 25, 2015.

Michael Johnson begins his first year as an assistant coach at Brown Mackie College under head coach Chris Lehecka.

Johnson says he is extremely thankful for the opportunity that Coach Lehecka has given him, and is excited to be a part of this new era at Brown Mackie College. “Coach Johnson brings great energy and knowledge to our program,” says Lehecka. “He has natural leadership skills and takes pride in motivating people. I watched Coach Johnson throughout his career as a player at Kansas Wesleyan, and I am excited to now be working with him on the sidelines.”

Coach Johnson has two siblings, both sisters. His parents are Benjamin and Angela Johnson.
