Practical Nursing

The diploma program in Practical Nursing enables students to acquire principles and knowledge from the biological and behavioral sciences as well as the science of nursing. This knowledge forms the basis for utilizing the nursing process in the field of Practical Nursing. Concurrent integration of theory into clinical practice is an important aspect of Practical Nursing education. The curriculum prepares the graduates to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nursing. Practical Nursing graduates seek entry-level positions as members of a health care team in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health, and a variety of other health care areas.
