Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant diploma program provides graduates with the skills necessary to seek entry-level employment in a clinical and/or administrative medical setting. The program prepares graduates for entry-level positions under the direct supervision of a physician or medical office manager through coursework in medical office administration, clinical procedures, and pharmacology, as well as in business principles and computer operations.

Employers may prefer to hire medical assistants who have been designated as Registered Medical Assistants (“RMA”) or Certified Medical Assistants (“CMA”). Graduates from the Medical Assistant Diploma program will be eligible to sit for the examination to obtain the RMA designation but will not be eligible for the examination to obtain the CMA designation.
