The Kentucky Board of Nursing has acted to grant conditional approval status for the pre-licensure of the Practical Nursing diploma program at Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky. A factor in the decision was based on the graduates’ first-time NCLEX pass rate of 91%.
Coursework in this program will include how to care for patients, and how to work as part of a medical team. Here is a sampling of some of the courses you will take:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Introduction to Nursing
- Endocrine/Neurological and Elimination Health Problems

The Practical Nursing program will prepare you for entry-level positions working as part of a healthcare team in a hospital, nursing home, clinic, or other healthcare facility. As a Practical Nurse graduate you will have the knowledge to take vital signs, administer medications, collect samples for testing, and provide patients with basic care.
