Brown Mackie College - Merriville Assembled Commencement Ceremony For Graduates on March 24, 2006

(MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - March 31, 2006) Brown Mackie College - Merrillville hosted a commencement ceremony for 77 Spring 2006 semester graduates on Friday, March 24, 2006. This ceremony also marked the appearance of the school's first graduating classes from its Practical Nursing program, with 21 students from this program receiving diplomas.
The guest speaker for the ceremony was Karen Freeman-Wilson, a retired judge and former Indiana Attorney General (2000-2001) from Gary, Ind. Attorney Freeman-Wilson is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals and the Executive Director of the National Drug Court Institute.
The ceremony also included remarks by Dr. Ed DeJaegher, the new Campus President of Brown Mackie College - Merrillville. Dr. DeJaegher holds an Executive Doctor of Management degree from Case Western Reserve University, as well as an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, a master's degree in economics from Marquette University, and a Bachelor in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University. Prior to his new position as Campus President of the school, Dr. DeJaegher served as president at Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa and as Dean of Graduate Programs at Indiana Institute of Technology.
