(Salina, KS – February 24, 2009) Brown Mackie College – Salina & Kansas City have satisfied the criteria of The Higher Learning Commission for accreditation for an additional 7-year period. This re-accreditation confirms both colleges ability to provide evidence of student learning, teaching effectiveness, fulfillment of mission, as well as other criteria as outlined by the Commission. Brown Mackie College – Salina & Kansas City have been accredited with The Higher Learning Commission since 1986.
The institutional accrediting body, The Higher Learning Commission, is one of 6 regional agencies who evaluates an entire institution and accredits the institution as a whole. “It accesses formal educational activities and also evaluates governance and administration, financial stability, admissions, and student personnel services, resources, student academic achievement, organization effectiveness, and relationships with outside constituencies” (The Higher Learning Commission, Handbook of Accreditation).
“This regional re-accreditation further validates that the institution is progressing along the right track to help our students in their educational endeavors in fulfillment of our Mission Statement.
