Brown Mackie College Hopkinsville Launches New Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Occupational Therapy Assistant

(Hopkinsville, KY - July 7, 2008) Brown Mackie College - Hopkinsville is now offering an Associate of Applied Science degree program in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
The new program provides students with the opportunity to learn principles and knowledge, skills, practice and professionalism necessary to obtain an entry-level position as an occupational therapy assistant. The objective of the program is to train the student to administer occupational therapy treatments, under the direction of an occupational therapist, to individuals who have lost functional abilities due to illness, injury, or disease
"The Associate of Applied Science degree program in Occupational Therapy Assistant will give prospective students the opportunity to earn a degree in a program that is not only highly rewarding, but also is a career that will allow our students to seek employment opportunities," stated Brown Mackie College - Hopkinsville President, Brenda Cortez.
Students will have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in the areas of rehabilitation, geriatrics, pediatrics, and mental health. The curriculum provides a good base in foundation of occupational therapy as well as functional anatomy and use of media.
Brown Mackie College - Hopkinsville is planning to enroll its first students into the program in August 2008.
