Also, the nursing industry will continue to have a high demand for new nurses within the next decade. The majority of nurses in the United States are over the age of 40, and more than half of nurses surveyed over the age of 50 indicated an intention to retire by the year 2020. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that 711,900 nursing jobs will be available by the same year.

Brown Mackie College — Miami is near the heart of downtown Miami, Florida — the most populous metropolitan area in the Southeastern region of the United States. From your classroom, you have only a 15-minute drive to the sand and sun of Miami Beach and a five-minute drive to watch the Miami Heat play at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Public transportation is also easily accessible, with two conveniently-located Metromover stops and several bus lines running right next to the Brown Mackie College campus. Economically, Miami is classified as an “alpha city” or a “global city,” meaning that it plays an important role in the global economy, serves as a headquarters for international corporations and contributes heavily to the regional, national, and global gross domestic product (GDP). The city is ranked 20th worldwide and 11th nationally in gross metropolitan product (GMP).

Aside from its exciting nature, healthy economy, and plethora of opportunities for individuals in the healthcare industry, Miami is also one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Additionally, Miami’s skyline is considered third most impressive in the United States, only behind New York City and Chicago, with more than 50 skyscrapers standing over 400 feet.
