My future is awesome

Dannielle R. Barnett looked to Brown Mackie College — Merrillville for business knowledge to help her run the small cleaning company she had established. Little did she know where her path would lead. “I wanted to educate myself in every aspect of the business world,” she says.
She found the academic program rigorous, and appreciated the small class sizes. “The one-class-a-month format helped me to focus, and the instructors were amazing. They helped me along the way when I was struggling,” says Dannielle. The dedicated effort paid off for Dannielle when she graduated from Brown Mackie College — Merrillville in 2013 with an Associate of Science degree in Business Management.
She now works as producer and operations manager at The Car Man Show in Hammond, Indiana, where the automotive talk show host assists listeners in purchasing vehicles. The endeavor includes an accompanying website. Dannielle’s busy days include contacting businesses in Chicago and Indiana to promote their business on the radio station. In addition, she manages partnerships with the car dealers that sponsor the show.
“I enjoy working independently and meeting potential business partners,” says Dannielle. “My education helped me to understand how to communicate with people, and prepared me to be a great presenter without being afraid.” Dannielle thoroughly enjoys her new career.
“I am proud to be a graduate of Brown Mackie College — Merrillville. My degree has opened many doors for me. I got where I am today with strong determination and with God,” she says. “My future goals are to continue using all I've learned in helping others, and to be the best at whatever I do.”
