(TULSA, Okla. – March 18, 2009) Brown Mackie College – Tulsa will host a grand opening celebration on Thursday, March 26, at 4608 S. Garnett to commemorate the school’s arrival and early success in the Tulsa community. Originally set for January, the event was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The grand opening will begin with a media tour of the Brown Mackie College – Tulsa facilities at 1 p.m., followed by a ceremony and a ribbon cutting. Light refreshments also will be served.
Brown Mackie College – Tulsa is one of 21 locations in the Brown Mackie College system of schools. During the ceremony, several speakers expected to attend will discuss how the new college benefits Tulsa and its surrounding communities, including Brown Mackie College System Group Vice President Anthony Rios; Oklahoma State Senator Bill Brown of Broken Arrow; Susan Neal, City of Tulsa Director of Community Development and Education Initiatives; Tulsa City Councilor Dennis Troyer; and Broken Arrow City Councilor Richard Carter. L’Toya Knighten, director of the Tulsa office of Gov. Brad Henry, also will share a congratulatory letter on behalf of Gov. Henry and the Oklahoma State Senate.
“This is a very exciting time for us at Brown Mackie College –Tulsa,” said Denise Choquette, the school’s president. “We’ve enjoyed a tremendously positive student and community response since classes began on Oct. 6. We look forward to delivering a unique, career-focused education to residents of the region for many years to come.” Brown Mackie College – Tulsa offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Criminal Justice and Healthcare Management as well as Associate of Applied Science degrees in Accounting Technology, Business Management, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Office Management, and Paralegal.
Diploma programs are also offered in Accounting, Business, Criminal Justice, Medical Assistant and Paralegal Assistant.
