Brown Mackie College ? Tucson Launches New Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Occupational Therapy Assistant

(Tucson, AZ - May 30, 2008) Brown Mackie College - Tucson is now offering an Associate of Applied Science degree program in Occupational Therapy Assistant.

The new program provides students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, practice and professionalism necessary to obtain an entry-level position as an occupational therapy assistant. Under the direction of an occupational therapist, the objective of the program is to train students to administer occupational therapy treatments to individuals who have lost functional abilities due to illness, injury, or disease.

The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in all areas of occupational therapy. The curriculum is designed to focus on the core values in an occupation based client centered manner, engaging clients across the lifespan in occupation, and the use of practical performance and critical thinking skills for entry-level employment.
