The Health & Fitness Training associate’s degree program at Brown Mackie College – Salina offers students the skills and knowledge to gain an entry-level position in the health, fitness, and wellness field or the recreation industry. Graduates will be prepared to assess health and fitness levels, design, implement, and promote safe effective exercise programs for various populations, screen clients for contraindications to exercise and teach clients with medical complications healing methods.
Health and fitness specialists work directly with clients to assess their health and fitness levels and to help them set and reach their health goals. They help their clients gain confidence and strength while motivating them to better their physical health. They may be employed in gyms and health clubs, corporate fitness centers, country clubs, senior-living centers, universities, and resorts.
This Health and Fitness Training degree program offers you courses on: • Fitness testing, exercise programming, nutrition, weight management, stress management, and guidelines for prescribing an overall healthy lifestyle. • Areas such as body movement, energy and energy systems for movement, muscle physiology, nutrition, training, and body composition. • Additional coursework in business, professional development, and general education that is designed to prepare graduates for career opportunities.
Celebrity Boot Camp Upon the successful completion of the Health & Fitness Training program each student will be eligible to attend the Celebrity Boot Camp, held in Las Vegas.
Students will receive intense hands-on instructions for the personal training techniques needed to pursue a rewarding career. Participants will also undergo skill and performance instruction to better prepare themselves for employment.
