Brown Mackie College ? Salina Introduces New Class Schedule to Assist Students

10/24/2008

Brown Mackie College – Salina has implemented a new class schedule designed to help relieve expenses incurred by its students. The schedule will also provide better access to student services.

To provide Brown Mackie College – Salina students with some relief and to help reduce their transportation costs, Brown Mackie College – Salina changed its “class schedule” from a four-day week, three-hour class schedule (Monday thru Thursday) to a three-day week, four-hour class schedule (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). The schedule change resulted in one less class day for all day students, except nursing students; however, students will spend one hour longer in class each day in order to meet content requirements. The class schedule change took effect on October 6, 2008.

“Although we have seen a decrease in gasoline prices recently, the impact on our students and their families have not changed,” said Judy Holmes, President of Brown Mackie College – Salina. “Brown Mackie College – Salina is very concerned about the increase in gasoline prices and how those increases directly affect our students. “

With the change, Wednesdays is aside for students to take advantage of career services advising, academic advising, studying groups, tutoring services, and other student support services.

For additional information about the new class schedule, please contact the Brown Mackie College – Salina Admissions office at (800) 365-0433. For more information about Brown Mackie College, visit www.brownmackie.edu/pr.aspx?ID=bmc0921.
