Brown Mackie College Northern Kentucky Announces Formation of Lambda Alpha Epsilon Chapter On Campus

5/6/2006

(Ft. Mitchell, Ky. - May 5, 2006) Brown Mackie College - Northern Kentucky, located in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, is pleased to announce the formation of an American Criminal Justice Association's Lambda Alpha Epsilon chapter on its campus. The American Criminal Justice Association is a national organization founded in 1937 to promote professionalism, ethical conduct, and higher education standards in the criminal justice field. Brown Mackie College - Northern Kentucky's chapter will be the first in the greater Cincinnati/northern Kentucky area.

Brandy Taylor, lead instructor in the school's criminal justice program, says, "We have 25 charter members in the organization to date, as well as elected officials." The group held its first election on Monday, April 10, 2006 and announced Laura Cain and Vikki Martin as co-Presidents, Shawna Parm as Vice-President, Teresa Barker as Treasurer, Jeannetta Benedict as Secretary, and Michelle Gavin as Sergeant at Arms.

The chapter is in the process of planning several different activities in the upcoming months. Among these is a pinning ceremony for all members, a dance and silent auction, and various other fundraising activities. The group's goal is to raise enough money throughout the year to attend the American Criminal Justice Association national convention and compete in a Crime Scene Investigation, Physical Agility, and Firearms competition.

"We are very excited about the chapter's presence on campus, and we encourage any one else who is interested or would like more information to stop by the academic office for more information," said campus President Rick Lemmel.

According to the Lambda Alpha Epsilon web site, the Brown Mackie College - Northern Kentucky chapter will be the sixtieth chapter nationwide.
