Brown Mackie College — North Canton has a 21-year history in electronics and technical education. Initially located at 7215 Whipple Avenue in North Canton, Ohio, the school opened its doors in 1984, as the National Electronics Institute (NEI), offering programs in Electronics Technology and Electronics Servicing.

In June of 2002, the College came under the ownership of Southern Ohio College LLC, and the name of the College was changed to AEC Southern Ohio College. In September of 2003, the College came under the ownership of Education Management Corporation, and in November 2004, the College was renamed Brown Mackie College — North Canton.

Brown Mackie College — North Canton is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award associate’s degrees and diplomas. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education. Its accreditation of degree-granting institutions is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
