Wisconsin Student Awarded Evelyn Keedy 2009 Scholarship

A Marshfield, Wisconsin resident, Christopher J. Handrick, has been awarded the Evelyn Keedy 2009 Scholarship to attend the Media Arts & Animation bachelor’s degree program at The Art Institutes International Minnesota.  

Christopher was selected for his outstanding academic accomplishments carrying a 4.329 GPA, along with being a 4-year member and officer in SkillsUSA.  Christopher is also a member of the Marshfield High Film Guild and has received multiple awards for both his academic and artistic achievements.  Christopher’s letters of recommendation spoke of his positive attitude, cooperative nature, and work ethic.  He was described as a great team player and a problem solver whose potential success is boundless.
 
About Evelyn Keedy
The late Evelyn Keedy was a highly respected High School Admissions Representative with The Art Institutes for many years. She served in several capacities at The Art Institute of Dallas before beginning her work as an Art Institutes Representative at high schools in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. She is fondly remembered for her enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to serving the students of The Art Institutes schools.

About The Scholarship
In memory of Evelyn Keedy, a $30,000 tuition scholarship is awarded each year to a worthy high school senior who has enrolled at one of the 32 eligible Art Institutes locations.  Applicants for the scholarship must submit:

  • A completed entry form indicating the school and program of study desired.
  • An official high school transcript indicating current grade point average and class rank.
  • A letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher.
  • A letter of recommendation from an employer, club sponsor, coach, or community service leader.
  • A typed résumé stating educational background, extracurricular activities, hobbies, work experience,
  • community involvement, and awards.
  • A 200-word essay about their career choice and why they have chosen it.
