The objective of the Criminal Justice bachelor’s degree program at Brown Mackie College – Merrillville in Indiana is to prepare you for entry-level positions in criminal justice systems, including the field of corrections and the court systems. This Criminal Justice degree program offers you courses on:
• The facets of the criminal justice system, the subsystems, and how they interrelate. Students are introduced to the terminology, classification systems, and trends in modern criminal justice.
• The fundamentals of criminal investigation from initial crime scene searches to follow-up investigations and eventual case presentation. Also included will be discussions of the tools employed, skills development, and techniques utilized by modern criminal investigators to identify perpetrators and reconstruct criminal activities.
• Contemporary issues in criminal justice. Methods and philosophies that will govern the criminal justice field in the near future are introduced along with discussions of the ethical, legal, social, and political ramifications expected.
