The Practical Nursing certificate program at Brown Mackie College – Kansas City in Lenexa, Kansas, provides students with principles and knowledge from the biological and behavioral sciences, as well as the science of nursing. This knowledge forms the basis for utilizing the nursing process in a professional practice. Concurrent integration of theory into clinical practice is an important aspect of practical nursing education. This program prepares the student for the testing required for the licensure to practice as a licensed practical nurse. Upon completion of this program, the graduate is prepared for an entry-level nursing position in a hospital, nursing home, clinic, or other healthcare facility.
