Brown Mackie College – Greenville is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools.
The system of schools has a long history that extends back to the late 1800s. It began with Kansas Wesleyan School of Business, which commenced operation on September 12, 1892. In 1938, the school was incorporated as The Brown Mackie School of Business under the ownership of Mr. Perry E. Brown and Mr. A. B. Mackie, both of whom were former instructors at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.
In following years, this school and others that were to become part of the Brown Mackie College system of schools were owned and operated by numerous companies. Today, the Brown Mackie College system of schools has more than 20 schools located throughout the United States.
Brown Mackie College – Greenville, established in 2009, is a branch of Brown Mackie College – Tucson located in Tucson, Arizona. Brown Mackie College – Tucson was founded in 1972 as Chaparral College, a career college focusing on programs in the secretarial sciences as well as accounting and marketing.
