Animation and Visual Effects Festival Comes to Downtown Minneapolis

The Art Institutes International Minnesota, a design, media arts and culinary arts college located in downtown Minneapolis, is hosting their third annual BLOCKHEAD FESTIVAL, a showcase of student talent from the Media Arts & Animation and the Visual Effects & Motion Graphics degree programs. The event will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm at the Crown Theatre at Block E, located on 6th Hennepin in downtown Minneapolis. The event is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.
Current students and alumni from The Art Institutes International Minnesota were encouraged to submit their animation and visual effects work for this juried competition. Representatives from the local media art industries will judge all submissions and all decisions are final. Prizes will be awarded for Best 3D Modeling/Rendering, Best Animation, Best Visual Effects, Best Motion Graphics, and Best Alumni Work.
