Students, faculty and staff from The Art Institutes International Minnesota, will team up on a special assignment that will promote goodwill and valuable support to their community during National Week of Service April 19-25, 2009.
The Art Institutes International Minnesota students, faculty and staff are no strangers to community service. Since its inception, the school has been actively involved in community outreach with various projects ranging from donating blood to developing marketing collateral and designing Web sites to producing animated Public Service Announcements to providing photography benefiting local and national non-profit organizations.
This year, The Art Institutes International Minnesota students, faculty and staff have partnered with the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery and Second Harvest Heartland. During the week of April 19, 2009, The Art Institutes International Minnesota students, faculty and staff will be gathering clothes, underwear, and shoes for children ages infant to 12 years, pull-ups for toddlers and infant diapers, formula for infants for a drive benefiting the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Students and employees will also have an opportunity to volunteer their time to help Second Harvest Heartland sorting and repackaging bulk food items, and labeling cans before the items get distributed to needy families.
“Participating in the National Week of Service complements our campus environment of serving our students and serving the community where we live and work,” says The Art Institutes International Minnesota President William A. Johnson. “Giving back to the community is always the right thing to do and we are proud of the work and support our faculty, staff and students have put into this important effort.”
