(Akron, OH - July 8, 2008) Brown Mackie College - Akron is pleased to announce the opening of a new Learning Site. The 15,000 square foot facility, located at 388 South Main Street in downtown Akron, on the third floor of the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) building, will feature nine classrooms, two computer labs and one medical assisting lab. Additionally, the new location will provide financial aid assistance and include a business office and bookstore.
"The growing student population at our Akron campus led to the decision to expand," stated Rick Reikob, President of Brown Mackie College - Akron. "The Akron campus is located at 755 White Pond Drive is on the West side of Akron. The Learning Site, located downtown towards the East side of Akron, makes it more convenient for some current and prospective students to attend classes. We are increasing our footprint in the Greater Akron area."
Brown Mackie College - Akron offers programs that prepare students for opportunities in Akron and surrounding communities for growing business, health care, legal assistance and computer technology industries. "The school fills an important niche, providing skilled workers to support current labor demands in our community. We are excited to be able to expand our facilities to provide educational opportunities and services to students who reside in Akron and surrounding communities, say Reikob."
